What have you just BOUGHT?

Been thinking about one of these for awhile and then found this, with the lens, for what a used body typically goes for alone. Very low usage and in great shape.

The EVF is gorgeous and makes adapted lenses easy to focus without using peaking or the PIP zoomed area. It is more customizable than I have ever seen. Panasonic went all in on this camera.

Soon to Sell: M240 and possibly 50R

Let's see, of the seven exposures I've made thus far on the first of the two old packs, only one rum one, totally blank. I'll take that percentage, if it keeps up! Colors on the successful prints are maybe a little muted, but perfectly acceptable. Thanks for the support!
Ok, that sounds better than the initial results. I was thinking a 2020 expiration isn‘t really that long ago, especially for Instax film which I think tolerates ageing better than Impossible/new Polaroid.

Just bought an Instax Wide printer for printing cellphone photos to wide-format prints. I already have an Instax Neo 90 (mini format) and SQ6 (square format). Didn’t want to buy their wide-format camera because it’s so big. Using the phone’s camera and connecting to the printer is the best of both worlds.

Stores here seem to have just the charcoal colored printer. Don’t like that. Good news is that online ordering of the ash-white printer saves me $50.

Used Canon 100mm f/3.5 M39/LTM lens

It was a bargain, under $100 shipped from Japan.
Like most all of these it has a touch of internal haze.
If I find I use it often I may upgrade one day.

This week I bought a Canon AV-1 with canon 50mm f1.8, a canon speedlite 177, a Tamron f-system 2x converter and a Tamron 135mm 03B lens with canon mount. Only paid £69.95. I only wanted the 03B, so I sold the rest for £60. Unfortunately I had to spend £5 on a bus ticket to take the stuff to a 2nd hand camera shop, and I also had to buy a centre-pinch lens cap, an adaptall 2 nikon ais mount, a skylight 1b filter and a lens hood, which took up much of the £60. The 03B has a sort of "stickyness" to the rubber which seems to get worse the warmer it is, so I'll have to sort that out.

Quite the haul! Try some denatured alcohol on the sticky rubber. That often works on camera bodies that have developed this problem.

Yes, it was quite a haul. I'm still suspicious of how lucky I was, lol. Thanks for the info, Retro. I have done a search on youtube for clips on how to do it, but there seems to be a lot of them, and I'm pretty that, like every time I try to research stuff on the interwebnet, there'll be a lot of conflicting info, so I've not got around to watching them yet.

This week I bought a Tamron SP f2.5 90mm 52BB lens. I bought this and the previously mentioned Tamron 135mm 03B because the Tamron CT105mm lens I bought the other year as a "reasonable compromise" so that I didn't have to spend money on the original idea of getting both a 90mm and a 135mm as part of a "low light"/ "indoor" kit, ended up with a worn Teflon thing which can't be replaced so I had to go back to the original plan. NOW I've ended up having to buy two more lens hoods, 2 more Hoya skylight 1b filters, 2 more centre-pinch lens caps and 1 extra nikon ais mount. Huh! What a good "money saving scheme" buying the 105mm lens turned out to be.

Regarding the alcohol: I've simply dabbed and wiped gently with a wetted microfiber cloth, then allowed the piece to air-dry, repeating if necessary. Of course, there's no guarantee that the sticky rubber is the same compound, but if it works, it's a cheap fix.
And regarding your lens purchases: one of the prime rules of buying used equipment is that any purchase has the potential to turn into a financial rabbit hole. Ask me how I know!

I've just watched a couple of the youtube videos about removing stickyness from rubber focusing rings. One shows the vlogger sliding the rubber grip off the lens and washing it with washing up liquid, another one shows the vlogger putting a tooth brush into a bowl of Isopropanol and "fgrktoejkdsl" (I couldn't tell what he said, lol) and rubbing the brush so vigourously on the rubber that the liquid sloshed all over the lens barrel. So I think I'll try your approach Retro.
