Uh, film IS for real men. Those plasticky household appliance things cross-bred with pocket calculators are not cameras, in my opinion.

DUPA usually written SUPA DUPA except when used to refer to one's posterior.
DUPA also has a very profound meaning in Polish. Thank you, Marek, it was priceless.

stephen has left me with all same 'powers' that i had as a mod and i find the temptation to 'check in' overwhelming.
Really? Wow.
I would have declined.
Why shackle yourself with the temptation?
You left a good legacy already.
Turn the page, write a new chapter.
(Easy for me to say, but I do think you can do it).

Eh? Just ignore what you find unpleasant or too stupid to bother with. Take a break when something gets to you—take out a camera and make some photos, spend some time processing them, or read a good book. Stop yourself from replying to every little thing.
I spend more time reading photography oriented blogs lately. A few folks I enjoy reading only.

I find it Interesting that there is an anti-apug thread on RFF every few months. There's a lot not to like about apug but I can't remember an anti RFF or LFF thread on Apug. Some dissing of photo.net but that's it. Apug was created for people that are absolutely pro film and not that much for digital. The digital guys/gals can use dpug or hybridphoto after a thread that critisised Apugs extreme anti digital tendencies was started they made some changes and now Hybridphoto can be accessed directly via Apug so they opened up a bit.
The opposite of APUG is the RED forum imo

Then I would say 99% of all photo forums on the web the 1% being RFF, APUG, LF, Aphog and that's pretty much it for analogue photography so take your pick.
dpreview comes to mind, stunning digital photography community http://sdpcommunity.com/ , digital darkroom http://www.digi-darkroom.com/ , since digital is now the main photographic medium the forums are usually more specialised than RFF or APUG

I think a pure digital forum cannot exist because digital photography can not be separated from photography to film from which it derives. often then digital photography seeks to achieve similar results to those obtained with film.

I like APUG.
Me too. I like APUG because of it's analog only bias. I'm not rabidly anti-digital, I'm just not particularly interested in it, so APUG is a great forum for me.

is there an all digital forum with no film chat allowed out there in internetland?
I wouldn't say film chat is forbidden, but it's almost no existent at http://photography-on-the.net/forum/ .

Sounds like you just need a break from the internet/forums, period.
While some forums are more civil than others, they are all really all the same thing. You'll always end up seeing things you don't like or don't agree with. When they start having a negative impact on you, it's best to take a break.

I don't know about that, the title of this thread kinda reads that way to me

Really!!! I went and searched apug and could not find any threads that seem specifically anti RFF. However I did find a few posts that were not particularly complimentary toward back alley or RFF. Didn't actually find any specifically anti back alley THREADS.

I was looking at the popphoto.com forum presented by Popular Photography the other day and it looks like an interesting place. The registration thing is all janky so I did not join. For some reason I always end up back here regardless of whatever mode I am in digital or film...Don't even try any brand specific forums as they tend to be real psycho if you ask me.
