Switching to 50, recommendations?

A few folks beside myself mentioned the Nokton 50/1.5 and the price new is $699.00, includes a hood, not the $800.00 I mentioned above. It does not have a focusing tab but the knurled focusing ring works well for me.

A sample photo.

BTW, I have not experienced the focus shift problem with the Zeiss C Sonnar T* 50mm f1.5. A stellar lens . . . . .

Good luck with your decision

50 f/2 planar is a wonderful lens with a little ridge of a tab, as is the 50 f/2 summicron the version from 80s and 90s had a focus tab (same optical design as the built in hood version of today), also the new Summarit 50 f/2.5 has a tab...all wonderful lenses in your price range.

Perhaps if you wait for the May 10 announcement a new Leica summicron will be announced, probably decreasing the current used market prices on other Summicrons

I'm not sure the new summicron will decrease the price of the old lenses. i think it will increase the price. rumor has it that there will be a 1,000 price increase on the new 50 Asph 'cron. This will surely push more users to the pre-asph, forcing higher sales...
