This is Steve, Sydney Rose and Sheryl Hartz. Steve owns and operates an old-time general store/music store/instrument repair business here in Nacogdoches, Texas. He specializes in building, repairing and playing vintage string instruments. The Hartz family is performing Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015, at the Old-Fashioned Sweet Tooth Sugarcane Event at the Durst-Taylor House Historic Site in Nacogdoches, an annual re-enactment event featuring blacksmith demonstrations, a log smoke house and antique mule-driven cane press, pressing sugarcane grown on site, later boiled down to cane syrup. I've done several photo shoots with Steve and his wife Sheryl; This was the first time their daughter performed with them when I was shooting. Image made with Kiev IV FSU camera and Jupiter 12, 35mm f2.8 lens on Ilford FP4 35mm film, processed in Kodak HC110 Dil. B and scanned on an Epson flatbed scanner with transparency attachment.
