This photo of a diminutive actor was taken backstage after a six hour buddhist pageant. He was a total clown, on and off the stage. The K5 has some focus issues in dim light, but the Pentax 31mm works as a good, bright normal lens.

These photos are from a Buddhist festival/historical-drama in Bhutan. The joker characters add silliness and relief during hours-long performances.

Oh, the light and reflections were just made for my 90mm Elmarit-M. That lens give me great contrast and "pop", and when the aperture is cranked down to f/16, you can see wonderful sunstars. I get more excitement out of that lens than any other.... Makes me want to spring for the modern 35mm ASPH lens.

The Chuhuly exhibit at the Denver Botanic Gardens is really spectacular. Popular & Crowded, also, but then you can work on your candid portraits. Be sure to come up while the Fall weather is still good! I think they do night shows as well, but you have to get tickets.

This is a window/doorway on a house in Bhutan. I don't remember what the herbs are - culinary rather than medicinal, I'm pretty sure.

One other thing: I've been thinking a lot about how the Dutch masters used North Light -- Fun movie, "Tim's Vermeer". B&W conversion can be pretty flat if the lighting is more uniform or you use full-frontal, auto flash. In this case, the window gave North Light from the left, and the ceiling light filled in with a bit of incandescent bulbs.

In color the mis-match of light temperature was reasonably well-handled by the D7100, but just barely. B&W comes out better. Also, I don't quite like the color cast from the Nikon 50mm f/1.4 D lens.

Another Pano that probably ends up at 18mm-21mm equiv. Yeah, wide angle is pretty useful for landscape.
