The names I can recall were the likes of Steve Hislop and Joey and Robert Dunlap (Robert crashed and was injured when his wheel disintegrated at Ballaugh bridge).

Speaking of the Dunlops, I got to visit Ballymoney in 2002 - it was a year or two after Joey's tragic demise in Estonia. Here are some snapshots of Joey's memorial and the interior of his pub. Where else would you see a HRC Honda dangling from the ceiling of a quiet little pub...

Just saw your post - very interesting, I 've never seen the memorial. Could be worth a trip to see, love to have pint in the pub. If you have more shots - please post..
