I confess to liking horizons. Horizons define right angles to the line of sight and to gravity, and imply the possibility of travel to distant places. Placement and tilt of horizons affect perception and interpretation. Here, it seemed natural to have the horizon equally divide heaven and earth.

It's interesting to consider that not all humans experience one - rainforest tribes, for example. I sometimes wonder how that affects their thinking, their view of the world.
