[FONT=&quot]Maybe some of you are interested in a photoessay book which has recently been published in Finland. All the photographs are made by using a rangefinder camera.

Budapest metro: from below the surface beyond capital. Photoraphic essay book which is published in Finland in december 2012 by Like Kustannus. The book mixes rangefinder street photography, reportage and portrait tehchniques with some constructivist avantgarde methods and shows a radical stuctural critique of our historical time and a collective alternative for our mode of being.

The book has a website with a gallery, music and some other links. It can be seen here: http://www.rauhanpuolustajat.org/budapestmetro/ (photographs under the "galleria" section). I especially recommend the unofficial mix-cd budapest metro sound 1966-91 available also for listening (soulful, psychedelic, funky rock, folk sounds and jazz music) at mixcloud

http://www.mixcloud.com/budapestmetr...t-metro-sound

The book is a heavy black square and consists of 256 glosspaper pages half photography, half text: travel literature, historical, cultural and social commentary and radical philosophy and poetry. It's shows the structures of the capital city and the interesting currents and characters of it's underground traditions. I'm sorry to say that the captions in the photogallery are only in Finnish. I will bump up this topic when the translation of the webpage will be ready some time in the near future as the textual context is as relevant as the photography.

Nice. Like the saturated colours, the form, geometry and enhanced visual contrast when these interact. Thanks for posting - really enjoyed the gallery.
