Jupiter 11 Lens cap

Hi,
I bought a Jupiter 11 LTM; i need a lens cap, so what diameter is the correct lens cap?

A Fed or Zorki body both make excellent back lens caps :)

Seriously, the threads are 39mm, or Leica thread mount (LTM)
 
Just for those interested in a rear lens cap...a film canister lid (the grey sort that clicks over the can, not the sort that clicks into the can) makes a good rear cap - if you carefully slice out the inner ring of plastic with a sharp knife. Fits most rf-coupled LTM lenses by popping over the cam. Also fits the Kiev-mount Jupiter 8 and Helios 103 lenses.

Yep, and Jupiter-8 is the same so if you can find one for J-8, it'll fit J-11, too. I have two kinds of push-on caps for them: a nice-looking metal one and an ugly translucent plastic one with the KMZ logo. The plastic one stays on much better.

Surprisingly good lens BTW.
 
For some strange reason, the FSU caps for the 42mm mount lenses seem to be a bit hard to find. If you look for something like "Russian lens cap" on ebay, you find scads of the small ones for Industar 22's or 50's, But the larger ones are a bit scarce.

I agree that the matt chrome ones look a lot nicer than the plastic ones, but they do tend to fall off a lot.

Hi,

And if you are wondering what to do with the body of the plastic film canister then look at the Jupiter-12 which needs a long rear cap... So measure carefully and cut to the right length.

Ok, 42mm. I read it's a good lens, I've two 135 lens: a canon 135 f/4 and Nikkor 13,5cm f/4; do you think jupiter is quite good as canon (nikkor is very very good for me)?
