and it is in near mint condition. Bought it from an RFF member, whose word was true (greyscale/Mike). Popped in a battery, and she fired right up. I will work through a roll of Fuji 200 and get it processed tomorrow. I hope it is shooting as well as I like the cam ... :D

I have bought half a dozen of these, my young friends love them, and I like that they are only in their teens $-wise on eBay. One is in the pack, one in the car... the Gordy straps on them are worth more.

The lens is just as sharp as the later 2.8 model and the body design is nice and compact. In practice the half-stop hardly matters so why spend $100 on the 2.8 model when you can get dozens of 3.5s for $25 or less?

Probably when one needs longer speeds than 1/15th of original Stylus. I admit that initial-bid Stylus covers 90% of what one expects from P&S camera, so it's little ridiculous to pay many times more for Stylus Epic. But sometimes Epic matters...and sometimes one just wants Epic.

btw do f/3.5 Stylus does variable power flash or is flashmatic style? Have never seen this discussed.

Yeah, having slow speeds down to 4seconds is big issue for me when compared to the minimum of 1/15 on the original Stylus. The spot metering while not as big, is still a nice thing to have, other than that, they're both excellent cameras, if you keep an eye open you can get a Stylus Epic for almost as much as the original stylus.. in fact i got my Stylus Epic cheaper.

Paul, thanks for your thread, which made me look for these. Now I sold one and am selling another, but only because I came across a Olympus XA3 in the process, and it fits me better at the moment. Again, thanks for getting me started on these little critters! Now I have something I can ALWAYS have on me when I leave the house.

Greetings, Ljós
