Carl Zeiss M39 lenses
I could but it will be quite long... nothing that wasn't said here already (except that he found the lens in a carboot sale for very cheap... aaaaargh)

About the adapter, what is the rotation angle (between infinity and nearest focus) 280° ? as a standard contax mount... 190° as a TssV mount... or anything special.?

"Does anyone know who first produced rangefinder coupled Contax to Leica screw mount adapters?"

The Cooke & Perkins adapter appeared around the same time as the Orion adapter so it is hard to tell which came first.

Like many great inventions there is this meme in the aether that seems to produce similar inventions by different inventors around the same time frame without the inventors having any knowledge of the others similar invention. The RR/Aplanat lens, telephone, sewing machine and the incandescent light bulb come to mind.

And the color photography based on the trichromatic technique, invented at the same time in 1869 by two different French individuals, Louis Ducos du Hauron and Charles Cros. They didn't know each other and there wasn't any rivalty between the two.

The very same Charles Cros also invented the phonograph in 1877 ! And - at the same time Thomas Edison invented it too. No relationship or rivalty between Cros and Edison, either.

That is truly amazing !

Maybe we do live in a simulation, computer generated or otherwise :D
