'Gallery Picks' is just a bunch of us giving a heads up to what we have seen during the past seven days at RFF that we like.

There's no membership requirement, no criteria (except past seven days), no voting, no limit to the number of photos we mention, and everybody mentioned is a winner.

Anybody can start the thread on a Monday morning.

Anybody can join in.

There's been a lot of good constructivist, abstract and highly geometrical photography this week. It's one of these things I have a perverse liking for. This shot was one of the best.

As far as I'm concerned this was probably the best picture this week. A great moment, excellent execution, amazing visual expression with the raindrops and the faces. Outstanding.

Crazy Paving, Crazy Painting by Pitxu:

I like this a lot. Nice textures and good colour contrast. Everything radiates this cozy kind of shabbiness. The fact that there's no two parallel lines in the picture would have distracted had the sujet been anything else, but here it works nicely. We see too little colour work on RFF.

Terge 'harwich_harbour'

A view of Harwich (from a ferry?) in the rain. Typical situation, great photo.

kully 'England III'

I think he didn't have the right lens to get the whole car in the photo.

Thanks for the mention Jon.

I thought it would be better without the whole of the front in the frame, I wanted the 'Austin' insignia to have more import.

A selection of the few out of the many I noticed this weeK:

A conjuration of so many leitmotifs of a heist movie. Stylish, smart, and so very cool. (my pic of the week)

Smart and funny, a play of an image upon an image
- Too close, even for chuck. Agi

So very pleasing to view, as you connect the dots that make this picture to give it a pattern and an undercurrent meaning.
- Untitled, Tuna

Superb environmental portrait, large negative, lush tonalities and a quirky personality
- Bird man, Chambrenoir

Perfectly caught a moment of tentative loneliness and suspension from reality
- Lunch time, Sinetsin

I half-expect the camera to pan upwords and give us a glimpse on Oddjob. Perfect exposure, and concetration on the all-important detail - the bowler hat.

So many great images this past week, thanks for sharing, best of light to all for this coming week. :)

minoltist7 'Agfa APX test'

It's a nice photo and I'm sure she likes it.

What makes it a 'Pick' is the title.
