I got my first roll shot with VC's new Vintage Line 21mm f3.5 processed and like what I am seeing from this great little lens.
These are snapshots I shot with the lens mounted on my Leica M1, so naturally all scale focus. These aren't really test shots for evaluating this lens' performance, but might still be able to get some idea about performance from them. The river shot was shot wide open, and everything was safely at infinity distance.
These shots are HP5+ developed in SPD for 8 min @ 20c. Digitization was done with my Canon 40D and 50mm f2.5 Compact Macro. Images converted to positive and contrast adjusted in Photoshop.

I owned the current FE version but eventually sold it to buy the older LTM f/4 version for film/digital consolidation. I believe the optical formula is nearly identical between the current M and FE versions, with very minor tweaks to account for different sensor stacks.

That lens is OUTSTANDING. Minimal distortion (I mean, cmon it's a 21mm) extremely sharp from wide open, tiny with excellent build and handling. There is a *very* slight cyan cast to the edges when you disable the baked-in corrections, but you have to know what you are looking for.
Like I said, I didn't sell it because I wasn't happy with it, I sold it because I love 21mm FOV and couldn't afford to have two lenses for different systems. The older LTM version is no slouch either, but it doesn't do nearly as well on Sony digital in the corners.

All these shots look great but am wondering if it's worth the extra $380 price increase from the f4? I'm looking for a 21mm so I'm thinking the f4 especially since I'll have to drop $200 on a VL 21/25mm VF but am wondering if it's worth saving up some more cash...

I had the LTM f4 version and it is a fantastic little lens (I only shot it on film). It has more fall off and less sharpness in the corners at larger apertures than the f3.5, but probably not that relevant for most photos. The f3.5 also seems to have less barrel distortion, but I never thought the slight barrel distortion of the f4 version was an issue.

sorry, i can´t help with the comparison to the Loxia...i can only post some shots with the color skopar, which like more ande more, the more i shoot with it ;-)

Loxia 21mm 2.8 is still the better lens vs the Skopar 21mm 3.5 M-mount on a Sony body. In terms of micro-contrast, corner sharpness and manual-focus experience
I miss the IQ a little but the Skopar wins for me for travel, it is 1/3 the size.
Plus now all my travel lenses take 39mm filters.

Did someone made a comparison of the 3.5/21 with the Voigtländer 1.8/21 or (perhaps more important) 4/21 digitally, with landscapes?
Once I had the 4/21, I used it a lot with film. But always liked the 4/25 better. It had more snap (therefore Snapshot skopar).
I would expect a better performance of the 3.5/21 digitally than with the (old) 4/21. But it seems to be not as brilliant as its sister lens, the new 2/35 Ultron. I already have the 1.8/21 but it's too heavy for me as a daily lens, and don't really need the speed here. From what I've read, the performance of the 21/3.5 isn't up to it.
Another option from buying the 3.5/21 in addition to the 1.8/21 is to sell the 1.8 and buy a (used) Super-Elmar 3.4/21 which performance is praised everywhere whilest beeing quite compact yet.

had a lot of fun shooting with the 21mm on the M3 over the Philippines. used it 95% of the shots.
really liking this focal length for close shots but finding that for farther subjects, I'm ending up cropping.
