The last one, 'Sunday Morning Harrold Texas', makes me think - "there were the electrical/telephone poles and wires, then the satellite dishes and the cellular masts, now windfarms that pop up here and there in the landscape"; some sort of chronological markers of eras.

I’m looking at that first shot wondering if it would be stronger if I cropped it in. Might have a look at that.
I think not. His big barrel chest and his Wrangler shirt speak volumes about who he is. Not to mention the rodeo buckle! There's a great dynamism to the unbalanced composition, as well. I'd say, trust your instincts that led you to make the photo as it is.
I love how you've captured the individuality of Leroy, as well as the certain "type" that he is. As you know, these old ranchers in this part of the country are wise, ornery, and great folks to have in your corner when the going gets a bit tough.
