Short video of Eikoh Hosoe talking about his theatre of memory exhibition, in english. He makes a nice point in it.

quiet photographer
I met him two years ago in Lucca when I visited his exhibition. He's a very gentle man and we could chat for a while. I remember i told him I'm just an amateur trying to improve my skills in photography and he answered that he as well has been trying to improve his photography for all his life! By the way I saw some very good prints on very thin japanese paper of pictures of the Sagrada Familia by Gaudì. Thanks for this interesting link her and in the always interesting Camera Work thread!

Very interesting. Thank you. Just in the last couple of days I looked again in a book I have of Stanley Kubrick’s teenage still photography. He was earning good money shooting for Look Magazine from the age of 16. He told stories, sometimes creating them out of just an idea, a young woman, arm above her head leaning against the blackboard on which she’d written I HATE LOVE.
