Hey all.
Just picked up an R and I feel like the camera would benefit from a side grip but finding one in the UK at a reasonable price right now seems impossible. I was thinking about maybe getting a 3D printed one.
Wondered what everyone’s thoughts are ?
I think if I went 3D printed it would be only until a genuine article came along.
I’ve shot 3 rolls with it now. With Jupiter 3, Canon 35/1.8 & Jupiter 8 it’s a lovely user.

I'll show what I did on my RD-1, same frame. I found a used Fuji X grip on eBay and got the plastic grip part loose from the bracket. Did a little shaving as needed to make it conform to the curve of the camera, you can see from the picture that it needn't be exact. Used the Gorilla brand two sided tape to attach. This particular grip has been on for over 5 years so it holds good. The suede cover is just a thing I do, not necessary. I've done the Epson, my Leica, my two Bessa film cameras and my Contax G as well as my two Fuji cameras. I have Arthritis in my hands and need a healthier grip than just the camera offers. These grips were in the 25 to 50 dollar range when I got them, it's been several year so who knows what they will run but I really like the grip, not too big (Like that thing Leica was putting out) and not too small.

Yes, same goes. Arthritis. Had it diagnosed nearly 15 years now. Truly a nightmare !

I just noticed that the strap lugs are in a different place on the Bessa, that'll test your machinist skills.

I was lucky enough to find one of the OEM ones so I’ve just picked that up. I’d rather just have the purpose made one than have me faffing around making something hehe
