i have a question: i am thinking of buying the Q.
can i program the fn dial to have the following functions there:
(1) monochrome setting (making it easier to simply access monochrome)
(2) focus tracking
(3) focus peaking
(4) 30 vs 50mm framelines
again, just curious if these functions could be programmed onto the fn dial.
what are some other popular ideas for the programmable fn dial?
thank you!

If you're referring to the thumb dial, it can only be set to off/auto/exp comp. It is not programmable
In Auto mode:
In P and A it adjust exposure.
In S and M it adjust shutter speed in finer increments.
In Exp Comp. mode it adjust exposure in all modes.
In Off mode, it disables the thumb dial.
The thumb dial can also be used to scroll through menus and zoom in during playback.

Fn button programmability is limited to the following, as far as I know:
•White Balance
•Exposure Compensation
•Scene Mode
•File Format
•Exposure Meter mode
•Wireless LAN
•Self Timer
I think that firmware 2.0 added user profiles to the list.
The button to the left of the thumb indent can be programmed to the 28/35/50 crop lines.
