Pennsylvania Philly/ Eastern Penitentiary shoot.

I just posted one image in the Gallery section. I can't seem to find the 'photo' icon for uploading here. I'm guessing the file attachment option is the way to upload, but it allows only 500 x 500 pixel max.

It was a great time photographing Eastern State Penitentiary with everyone.
Got most of my film developed, and the 2.1cm Nikkor O came in handy with some of the tight spaces.

Added some photos from ESP in the gallery here.

For your photo in the gallery, do a right-click or control-click on the photo to get the popup menu, choose Copy Image Location from that menu, go to the desired forum thread and in Quick Reply box see the small menubar icon that looks like an orange sun setting over green hills, click and in the resulting box paste your image location, add any text you might want in the Quick Reply and Save. That does it... :)

More options in the RFF Help forum thread (best to look at later posts) here:

Thanks, Doug. I see that menubar icon for images on other forum threads and have used it for photo uploads on those threads. But for some reason that icon does not appear in the quick reply box on this particular thread. Any idea why this may be?

Really enjoyed seeing everyone, hope you had a smooth trip back.

I have had a Very Bad Week with a plumbing emergency (now resolved), so it was nice to have had some fun on Sunday.

Sorry, I should have checked the location of the thread, as not all areas of RFF will accept posted images, and this is one such. You'll note there are no images in this thread...

All talk and no images from the shoot. Post some pics guys!!

Pramodh, see the comment above by Doug. Some threads (like this one) will not accept photo uploads. Ben (Benmachphoto) and I have posted some shots in the gallery section this week.

I started printing some images that were not contaminated with tourist benches. The diffused lighting and softness added with all the textures is pretty remarkable. The images are haunting, 13x19.5 with 2 inch borders.

Definitely art prints with this great glow in the highlights.

When I was there I really did not have a strong emotional response to the place, but with some time and after doing some printing and living with some images it's starting to be really really creepy...

I think my favorite shot came later in the day with the woman standing in front of the white church with all of the red crosses. I don't mind my EP photos, but I can't get over the fact that it is, essentially, a museum.

Joe,

I'm not sure you know that Ben and I engaged with someone on the street in northwest Philly named John (AKA Pop-Corn) who told use his father spent some time at Eastern State for hitting a man with a two by four.

Anyways there seems to be this spiritual element in the prints that is kinda beautiful. The light I captured is kinda divine. Unlike most of my prints where enhanced shadow detail is where the detail presents itself, in these prints it is in the glow and highlights.

I have one print that is a little soft due to camera shake, but the softness kinda works. I'll print another frame where the shot is sharper. I think the soft image presents this dreamyness that adds to the image.

Maggie likes the cell shots a lot, even though only viewed on my EIZO.

John,

I somehow got some shots of the "vintage" prison where it hadn't been cleaned up for the general public.

For me the light I captured is pretty amazing.

I get you... I have many shots that don't LOOK like a museum. However, I still KNOW it is a museum that is over photographed. It's my hangup...it doesn't need to be anyone else's. :)

John,

NYC is a big tourist trap. Basically this is my hangup...

Anyways I found some good light.
