Olympus 35 RC photos

Since the image featured some tigers, it was a very veiled reference to the Frosted Flakes (aka Frosties in the Commonwealth?) cereal slogan, uttered by Tony the Tiger.

Lol, yes, I did make the connection. It's strange, but as a small boy I ate Frosties morning noon and night, but now I can't stand the taste.
One of the attractions for me was dipping my hand in the box and finding the plastic aircraft kits they gave away in the 70s

Haha, now if you dip your hand in the box, all you get is Type 2 diabetes. But while we're on the topic of frosted flakes... ;)

Dourbalister, I've been pondering over whether to buy some of this Fujicolor Industrial. I'm impressed with this image of yours especially as it must have been subdued light during the snow storm, but in general, how are you finding it? (if you don't mind me asking)

Sorry for missing this reply earlier, I must have missed it. To be honest, I've only shot a handful of rolls using Fujicolor Industrial 100. Looking back at my catalog, this was from the last roll I shot, taken at the beginning of 2018. For me, ISO 100 is a bit limiting for the type of shooting that I do, so I tend toward faster 400 speed film. Get it while you can, though, because it may already have been discontinued by Fujifilm. There's a thread about the Fujicolor Industrial films here on the forum, as well as a relatively new Flickr group.

That said, I was quite surprised by this film. Quite sharp with fine grain, despite being marketed as an "industrial" film. Here's one of my favorite images, which happens to be from the same roll as the snowstorm photo. It compares pretty well with a nearly identical shot I took with Ektar 100 and a Hasselblad 500 C/M.

No worries dourbalistar, I've been travelling and (van) camping and as a result I have been off grid & off the internet for the last couple of days, so I wouldn't have seen your reply anyway. Many thanks for the info and the links which I enjoyed reading. The Fujicolor Industrial probably isn't the most versatile of films for use in my home country of Scotland (especially with the 35RC's widest aperture of f2.8, but I'm off to Spain in October for two months, so I think I'll go ahead and buy some, but save it for that trip..
Great photo by the way, I still like the colour rendition despite the low light.

I recently posted this on another thread, it is true. I just take better pictures with me 35RC:

I have a large Flickr account, and when I select a camera to search MY account I find I like my Olympus 35RC photos better than any of my other cameras (or more expensive cameras). I'm not sure WHY??, but I don't think it is camera performance. I think it is the way I fit that camera. I have complaints about the 35RC; but I must have some unknown connection with it. HELP!

I've only recently started shooting with a 35RC , but it has quickly elevated it's status to my go-to camera. Even if i don't take any photographs (which is frequently) it's an easy camera to carry around with you and therefore I agree with your sentiment "I think it is the way i fit that camera"

I'm still in awe of this Fujicolor Industrial 100's ability in low light. I suppose despite the snow falling/overcast sky, there is a certain amount of reflected light from the snow that is lying adding to the brightness of what should be a dull photo from a slow lens and slow film.
Either way it's a great image and may I say you have a fine looking family. Thanks for sharing.
