Hello! I'm new to rangefinders (though not completely new to photography) and bought a cheap Lynx 5000 on EBay and Im super excited to get started but I don't think the Rangefinder or some aspect of the Viewfinder is working. I can see the indicator square and parallel images just fine but when I turn the focus knob nothing happens. I tried a variety of light settings just to be sure but nothing has changed, I still see the double image in the center. If it helps the ghost imgae is to the left and slightly upwards of the original.

I think you have to put the top cover off and take a look. Maybe there is something jammed in the rf mechanism. As far as I remember the lens is connected via a simple rod to the body and rf mechanism, so there shouldn‘t be a problem.
