Description:

Up for sale is my Rolleiflex 2.8D with Schneider Xenotar, Maxwell screen, Rollei Lens cap, Rollei collapsible hood, Domke strap and 4 Rollei Bay III filters and 1 Heliopan Bay III.

If possible I'd like to sell the package but will consider splitting the filters up.

I purchased this camera from a forum member about 4 years ago. At the time I understood it had been CLA'd by Karl Ehlers a year or so before and a Maxwell screen installed. I was told the camera focus was optimized for the screen at that time and from the results I've gotten I would agree because it's amazingly sharp and the screen is super bright.

The Xenotar shows no signs of scratches, fungus, separation, marks of any kind or blemishes other than a few normal specks of dust. The shuttet sounds on the money at low speeds and my results have reflected that the shutter is within tolerence. I've experienced no issues with the shutter, transport (smooth as glass) or focus which is silky smooth too.Everything functions as it should.

A note about Schneider lenses, they ae nor prone to separation like Zeiss lenses. Matter of fact I've never seen a Schneider lens with separation in over 50 years. One thing that is common with Schneider lenses particularly after 1950. They often develope what's called Schneideritis which is the black paint on the inner barrell of the lens where the glass meets the mat black paint starts to bubble. Thsi is very common even in late vintage lenses. Fuji view camera lenses do this as well and have seen it in Zeiss lenses. Several years ago I contacted Schneider and asked them if it was an issue and whether it would be covered under their lifetime warranty. First they said it's no issue, just cosmetic. Second they said they didn't see it as a flaw so it was not covered. In practical use I have several Schneider lenses and Fuji with this and have never had a problem. Schneideritis is not in the optical path, it's just blacking on the inner mount.

This Xenotar has a very mild case and has not chnged since I acquired the camera. Nothing to be concerned about.

There are the normal pecks and minor dings but nothing that would be an issue. They're all cosmetic defects. Edges have some minor dings and there's wear and dings on the EV table bezel on the back. The leather is showing some wear but nothing terrible. None of the leather is loose.

The camera isn't a shelf queen but it's a solid performer with no known issues. It's a great user!

Included with the camera is a Rollei satin finish lens cap and Domke canvas strap.

SOLD!

I also have 3 Bay III filters and Rollei hood. I'd like to sell everything as a package if possible but will split things up. All are in Excellent optical shape and very good to excellent cosmetic condition on the metal. They come in a plastic case with the excetion of the Heliopan Skylight which is in  aleather case.

There is a Rollei Green, Light green and Heliopan Skylight.

Sold!

Also is a very clean colapsible Rollei Bay III lens hood. I much prefer these over the metal. They act as a shock absorber if you bump the front of the camera and fold up out of the way in the case.

Sold!

I have a nice Bay 1 Rollei hood, metal, in the leather case .Nice shape but has a slight scratch on one side. Will include a Rollei Bay I Green filter and a Series V to Bay I adapter. These fit a Rolleicord V, Va and Vb. May fit other Rolleis with Bay 1 bayonette. I believe it also firs soem Yashicas and possible Minolta Autocord CHECK TO MAKE SURE.

$25 plus shipping net to me.

Please EMAIL any questions to me at [email protected] . PLEASE EMAIL. DO NOT USE THE PM SYSTEM. I'm often out of my office on location and receive emails direct to my phone. I can and will respond faster if you email.

Thanks!

Don

Hello, if this was CLA-d by Harry Fleenor there will be his business sticker inside the film door, with the work order # of the service.

This is a very nice camera, GLWS!

If I didn't already have one, I'd be all over this. Someone should snap it up!

Thanks everyone.

I'd certainly keep it if I didn't have two. I debated for a year before deciding to sell. Ive had two D models and quite a few variations of 3.5's and this one is at the top of performance.
