Asking Price Shipping Amount Condition
SOLD! (Best Offer) None Good
Description:

I've managed to accumulate a lot of cameras in recent months, time to clear out and raise funds for other projects! I have a lot for sale and can only include a limited number of pictures here, but I’m happy to send more pictures of any of these via email.

Returns accepted within 7 days if items aren't to your satisfaction, although please don't buy things just to play with them and send back Smile. You pay return shipping on returns.

LEICA M

Leica M4-2. Good user camera with a few issues that may or may not matter to you. Viewfinder clear, rangefinder aligned. Shutter speeds sound good. I used this as my primary camera for the last year with no problems. Griptac cover. Cosmetically good condition, some finish wear, especially around strap lugs.

The main issue is that both the flash ports came loose and fell off during the course of using this camera. Both times it was while I was out shooting and I didn’t notice it, so I don’t have them. I tried to tighten up the second one after the first one fell out but it just seemed to keep turning. I read that some of these had flash ports made of soft metal prone to stripping, so I think that’s what happened here. I don’t use flash, so I just covered the empty ports with a piece of gaffer tape.

Other minor issues: the plastic tip on the advance lever broke off, so I replaced it with an aftermarket one from eBay. This is not quite as nice as the original, but I didn’t want to pay $40 for a whole new advance lever. It works fine and I’ve never noticed it while shooting. Finally, when switching lenses recently I noticed that the frame line switching isn’t very snappy - it takes a few seconds to completely switch from one frame line to another.

Great user camera, but please read the description and make sure it fits your needs. $650

Leica Summicron 35mm f/2 m-mount lens, V3. This is such a great lens, it’s a hard one to part with. Probably has the best ergonomics of any lens I’ve ever owned. Focus is nice and smooth (love that tab) aperture control nice and clicky. Glass seems very nice, I can’t see any scratches but there may be some very light cleaning marks. Close inspection with a flashlight reveals a little bit of oil on the aperture blades, some dust, and a tiny amount of haze. Moderate paint wear on the outside. Small scratch on rear metal retaining ring from the one time it loosened up, and when I went to tighten it my spanner wrench slipped (lesson learned, fortunately it didn’t touch the glass). $SOLD

Leica 35/50mm clip on lens hood, fits Summicron 35mm above and other Leica lenses. $75

LEICA THREAD MOUNT

Voigtlander Bessa R rangefinder camera, LTM mount. Working meter, all functions and shutter speeds seem accurate. Nice bright viewfinder, aligned rangefinder. Cosmetically shows quite a bit of wear with paint loss on the corners. Back rubber is a little sticky. $SOLD

Leica IIIf, red dial, #666753. Rangefinder is a little faint but still usable. All shutter speeds work and sound accurate. A chip in vulcanite (if you like I can try to patch this in with a bit of replacement covering before shipping). Good condition, typical wear, especially on bottom plate. Previous owner said it had been used to shoot film recently with good results, but I haven’t personally film tested it. $SOLD

Leica IIIc (1 of 2), $515502. Great user, viewfinder clear, rangefinder nice and contrasty. All shutter speeds work and sound accurate. Vulcanite in great shape. Good condition, has moderate wear and tear, especially on bottom plate. $SOLD

Leica IIIc (2 of 2)., #433482. Needs a CLA, shutter speeds are inconsistent, especially slow speeds. Has been recovered in kind of an odd smooth leather. Top plate is remarkably pristine compared to the rest of the camera and has what to my eyes looks like a more modern “Leica” script, with less loopy letters. Bottom plate shows noticeable wear. I’m not sure what the story of this camera is - perhaps it was serviced by Leica at some point and they replaced the top plate? Rangefinder is faint, mirror should probably be replaced. Could be a great camera after servicing. $150

Leica Summarit 50mm 1.5, LTM. Good condition, clean glass, a couple of small issues. Front of barrel has a scuff, focus ring has a very small dent. Focus very smooth, aperture smooth and clicks. Aperture blades show wear, but have been cleaned so this shouldn’t be a problem going forward. One of the inner elements has a roughly circle-shaped coating defect in the middle, visible only when you look at it from the right angle. I just had this lens serviced and the technician said that what you see is coating loss and is not fixable. He said that I shouldn’t worry about this as it won’t affect pictures, and I took some test photos shooting into strong light and didn’t see any issues at all other than typical softness when wide open. $400

Voigtlander 21mm f/4 LTM lens. Near mint condition, only used a few times. Focus is smooth but feels a little dry (could just be from lack of use). Includes hood and front and rear caps. Comes with original box, but note that it does not include a viewfinder even though the box has a spot for the VF. $300

VIEWFINDERS

Zeiss 21mm viewfinder. Gorgeous, big, bright viewfinder. Slight wear from use, one small mark on the front coating near one of the edges. $300

Leica/Leitz VIOOH 35mm-135mm zoom finder, in original box. Functional, good condition with some paint loss. $40
