Description:

I bought this IIIc a year or so ago because I thought it was very pretty, and because it has a wartime red shutter curtain--the only one I've ever seen intact.  Usually they obviously need replacement.  This one looks great.  The camera will need a CLA before it can be used.  The shutter does work at 1/60 and faster.  Slower than that, it has the usual problem of hanging up.  The film takeup spindle is loose and wiggly, will have to be tightened up.  That's about it for defects.  The takeup spool is not the pop-up type. The rangefinder and viewfinder are nice and clear, and the rangefinder is accurate and easy to use.  The diopter focusing lever works nicely.

This will be the fourth IIIc I have bought, and I still have three if you count this one.  It is the prettiest IIIc I have seen.  Not absoluteky perfect, not mint (whatever that means).  There are some bright spots on the chrome, on the top plate around the serial number, and on the bottom plate, where it looks burnished and no longer satin. One of the photos shows a slight discoloration of the vulcanite in front, below the winding knob.  You won't see it on the camera itself, it just shows up in one of the photos, though.

So.  I had meant to send it in for a CLA, but I just never did.  I bought it for looks. If someone would like it for looks or for photos, i will see if I can live without it.

I'll ship it by USPS Priority mail within the USA.  Free.
