Description:

Elliott Erwitt and other Great Photographers

Henri Cartier-Bresson is thought by most people to be the originator of street photography. (Actually, it was Andre Kertesz, although Alfred Steiglitz was doing some before him.) Cartier-Bresson did great work and popularized the term "Decisive Moment." However, the photographer who recorded far more decisive moments than anyone else is Elliott Erwitt, who can walk around the block and come back with more significant photographs than most of us could find in a year. He has churned out book after book after book of his work, any one of which would be a lifetime of work for any other photographer. Here are some of his books, along with books by many other great photographers.
