Description:

Up for sale is a Dual Range (DR) Leica/Leitz Summicron 50mm (5cm) f2.0. The lens received a CLA in 2012 from Wil van Mannen and has been used very moderatley since.

When it was used it was mounted on my M4 and gave me some great results. The lens is really flawless. No haze, no scratches, no cleaning mark etc. I've always had a UV filter on it and when not in use it sat wrapped in cloths in a drawer in my office: Dry climatized location.

Both aperture and focus ring move easily. Not sure if the rear and front cap for the lens are original but they are included as well as a Heliopan UV filter.

The lens comes with the famous "goggles" that allow the dual range action. The goggles are also in great shape. No separation etc and included is the orginal leather container for the goggles.

Lens' serial number is 1531713 which dates the lens to 1957.

Without the DR goggles, the lens will work on any Leica M camera or a camera that will accept the M mount. However, the lens' DR operation will not work with the following: Leica M5, LEICA CL/CLE, Leica M6 TTL, Leica M7 and any of the digital model such as M8 through and including M10. Again, the lens on its own? Works on all Leica M cameras. With the goggles/close focusing range? Only on M2, M3, M4 and M6.

Really, this lens if flawless and I won't add the "consdering its age". It is just flawless, period. You are most welcome to check it out in person in Amsterdam where I am located.

Should you want to buy it I would much rather that you pick the lens but I can travel anywhere in The Netherlnds within reason. So anywhere with a direct connection and not further than 45 minutes away from Amsterdam. Of course, I can ship it pretty much anywhere in the word, not an issue whatsoever. But the price might be a tad higher.

€750.00 gets you the lens and includes Paypal fees and shipping.

Actually, it will work fine with the M5 and most later M's if the little stabilizing peg is removed, a 30 second task.

Cheers,

Dez

Hi

I thought the Summicron DR works in Close Focus ranges fine on digital M's like M8.

Please confirm?

No, it's not working on M8 or M9.
