Description:

A pretty nice user Rolleiflex 2.8C Xenotar. Bought this in 2010 or 2011 from a member here and have had a great time with it. But except for a short project I've barley used it in the last couple of years; for some reason I keep pulling out the Kodak Medalist when I want 120 detail, and I need the money more than I need a shelf queen.

When I bought it the shutter had recently been overhauled by Paul Ebel and is still strong and accurate. In 2012 I had Harry Fleenor overhaul the transport and focus systems; he installed a new focus knob. There is a Maxwell screen- the plain fine grained screen, no split image or such. It's a bit dusty and dirty but that disappears in use. The lens is very clean; a few fine scratches can be found if you shine a light through the back and stare. There is one little smudge in the coating on the outer edge of the lens next to the '2' in the 2.8 mark- hard to photograph but I tried. Viewing lens is clean. Griptac covering installed by me. Proper magnifiers for the focus hood which pops in and out smoothly, and mirror is bright and clean.

This is a very nice user. It is not mint, nor excellent except on Ebay. All of the mechanical systems are smooth and functioning, such as the little silver buttons on the hsutter and aperture dials and the plactic shutter lock and flash lock parts. Focusing is one-finger smooth in that way Fleenor can set it up.

Comes with my specially ground clear glass filter for the viewing lens and hood with lens cap for the taking lens- makes being on the street much safer than the standard two-part cap also included. Also a worn but very functional Rolleifix, a Match Technical small soft release in cute ladybug pattern, three Rollei filters that are clean (middle yellow, orange, and light green) and a rather beatup Walz green X1.

So this is a pretty complete setup for shooting a Rolleiflex right out of the box.

Did I mention, 10 bladed aperture?

$675 for the bundle, plus $15 shipping US.

EDIT: A couple of questions, samples and screen. The screen in this camera (and the camera itself) was used in my screen tests in these two posts-

This group was shot with the camera-

This is a super kit price.

Between the Maxwell screen, filters, hood, and Rolleifix... there are nearly $400 in accesories here.....accesories one would otherwise need and have to buy.

GLWS Dan. If I had more of a need I would be jumping on this!
