Notes

I've been photographing the Manly Ferry - a Sydney harbour icon and institution - for decades. Sadly the State government intends to get rid of all but one of them early in 2021, to be replaced by small commuter catamarans. The smaller vessels will have difficulty crossing Sydney heads on rough days, unlike the larger Freshwater class Manly ferries. The local community is outraged by the decision and is protesting. This was taken in summer 2016. The Manly ferry is used by commuters and tourists traveling from the city to Manly, a 7 mile, 35 minute scenic journey.

I like the reflections in this photo. It's bad when governments take decisions without interacting with the local communities.
