Often when you catch the moment you want, you have other shots taken less than a second before or after, perhaps a thread showing the moment you want and the one you did not?
Might be too painful. ;-)

Next frame just had the horse and the wood on his back, had I been able to move, I might have backed up and got both, but I would have lost the expression in the man's face.

You get a hint of the load from the shadow.
