My Godfather Frank Fergusson, flew one of these during WW2 he was in the RCAF, based at RAF Tealing near Dundee Scotland.
He lived in Yellowknife NWT latterly and died quite a while ago.
I have his Omega Pilots watch (which I had restored and wear), his Cap Badge, and other regalia, which he left to me.
I only met him once after he returned to Canada to live postwar, a lovely man.
He was engaged to my aunt, but she sadly died young. He never married.
I have seen city of Lincoln flying in UK, the four Merlins make a memorable sound!!
But we should never forget why they were built.:(
Enjoy!! although he looks to be saying, one inch closer and I will put a scratch on that lens!!
why do they have to have such short lives, does not make it easy when they leave us!!:(
yes, classic composition. i like it a lot. any thought to use of a graduated ND filter to balance the exposure? not that you didn't handle the exposure very well. just thinking of deepening the tones of the expanse of sky.

I thought about it, but I wanted to show the cold pale winter sky.
