january project

well, i have had the week off and have completely lost touch with my watch and calendar. i almost forgot this is the last day of this month!

before i give the topic i have a curiosity. after posting the guidelines there were absolutely no comments in response. this was a surprise and has left me wondering if they were so good or so bad that there was nothing left to say.
do you find them acceptable? just very curious...

ok, the moment -

january's topic is ---THE MARKETPLACE---

be it an open air market, a farmer's market, or the local mall, this is all open to our interpretation.

happy shooting and let the photos begin!

joe

Hi Joe !

great ! there are lots of nice things to photograph in markets ! and you can always find there in traditional markets delicious things to eat while you think what to photograph (on La Boqueria, for example...)

About the guidelines... well I found them good enough ! That is, what we already said in some posts, there's no need to make them too strict, were here to have fun and enjoy taking photos after all...

In fact I didn't reply that post cos it seemed a non-negotiable one

Must go to the new year's eve dinner, have a great 2004 !!!

Oscar

Marketplace will be fine.... A couple ideas occur to me. The guidelines seem eminently reasonable, Joe, no other comment came to mind!

Well, since you asked, I really think the photos should be shot ONLY by rangefinder cameras since this is the Rangefinderforum.

I mean, the only guaranteed common denominator among all this forum's members is the fact that we are interested in rangefinder cameras.

Great topic, I'm hoping to get some shots already this week.. :-)

Agree with Lars about restricting the photo projects to RF's only. It would be a great way to;
a) 'stand out' amongs all other sites,
b) showcase what rangefinders can do, and
c) make it more interesting for us as viewers as we are here because we love and use - rangefinder cameras.

i was leaning to restricting cameras to rangefinder only and we may go that route in the future but for now i'd like to keep it more open.
part of my reasoning is that i believe that a great majority of the pics posted will be from rangefinder cameras as that is the reason we are all here.
thanks for the input guys.

I think it should be a rule.
I like rules.

Just finished a roll through my Olympus 35SP that has some 'marketplace' photos on it :-)
Hoping to have something scanned by next weekend.

I sympathize, rover! Here in my part of the Great Northwest we've had about a foot of snow over the past few days keeping me busy with shovel and snowblower (I operate rental property). Temps down to -16F, hard to stay warm. And hard to implement any non-snow-related photo ideas, though I did snap the lady at the hardware store when I went in looking for a new shovel. :-)

We get our share of snow, but nothing like you Doug. I actually enjoy the winter much more than the hot sticky summers around here.

I am surprised you don't have more snow already. I woke up at 4:30 today, it was -10. It has warmed up to 7 now at noonish.

The market is close to downtown (if you can call it that!). Up near the lakeshore the snow has been falling for 4 days, about 2+ ft.
