Thumbs up The "Pointed & Shot" Project / Challenge - IT'S ON! Join in.

OK, dust off all those P&S cameras and tape up the light seals! It's time to play with those cameras that we once thought were so cool. Let's use these slightly limited tools to make interesting images that we can all marvel at and enjoy. Shoot whatever subject you like, just get some cool P&S results to share.

This is a little bit of a "Flash Challenge" (like a flash mob but minus the dancing and occasional nudity) as I just popped the idea up today for feedback.

The shooting portion of the project/challenge begins NOW. Entries can be submitted until midnight on March 15th Pacific (California) time.

Rules: Next to None.
1- P&S cameras please. You know what I mean. A M9 on "S" is not a P&S. Neither is a D800 on "P". Honor system please.
2- Any subject, anywhere. Must be shot between now and March 15th.
3- Get the most out of that little forgotten camera. Make it interesting.
4. You can submit up to 3 images

How to submit: Enter any time before March 16th, starting now.
1- Go to http://www.jotformpro.com/kdemas/PointedAndShotChallenge
2- Enter at least one and up to 3 images.
3- Make sure images are no larger than 1000px on the longest side and 300K in size.

Prizes:
Who knows, we might get some donations...or not. Either way the process should be fun!

That's it!

Great idea - I am in, will dust off the Big Mini.

This is film only, right?

I think that I will go as basic as I can, with the fixed-focus Konica C35 EFP and Ilford XP2 400, or expired Imation(Ferrania) HP 100.

I had film in mind when I posted this originally but if a really outdated digi P&S meets someone's definition they can use it.

Dave,

Disposable drug store cameras certainly would fit the bill!

Count me in! To many cameras to list, but I can hear the Minolta hi-matic screaming for a day out of the display.

That's a chilly ride on a scoot Paul! I pulled a roll of APS film out of my freezer and the C11 is ready for action. Heading to the coast today and I'm bringing it along.

i'm in. first, my quite often used olympus mju came into my mind. but as i think the spirit of the challenge is to really restrict yourself, i may even use a simpler fixed focus camera. but have to check before, if i can bring it up to life (corroded battery compartment)

I may just pull out my Kodak Vest Pocket and see if it will still take pictures. That should qualify...right?

I took a walk to the junkyard and put two rolls of Imation 100 HP through this little cutie:

Focusing and metering are way overrated (I hope).

With all the P&S cameras you have I'm suprised you made such a quick decision on which camera to use.

I have until March 15 in case I got crap out of this one. By that time, I will probably have 10 rolls from 10 different cameras to choose from. But I had a couple of rolls of expired 100ASA Imation (Ferrania) on hand that has an interesing color pallete, thatI thought would be a good match for this camera with our bright winter sun. And it was about time I put a roll or two through this old Konica.

I'm in. I hope I can come up with something to compare to all the great work I see on here every day.

My only P&S is a Stylus Epic, so I guess that's what I'll be using.

I've got 110 covered too Donald. Bought some Lomo Orca film a few weeks back, just have to rig some power for the camera itself (battery discontinued).

I loaded my Yashica T* AF with some expired Kodak Gold 200 (Feb. 2005)...going to shoot it at 100 and take my chances...if anything worthwhile comes out I'll post the results...
It's only 24 exposures so I hope I can use this camera enough to finish the roll before the cutoff date...

Oh good! Someone else with old film. My XA2 is now loaded with Agfa APX400s best before 2005. Not run any for 2 years or more, although it's been in my freezer or fridge since 2008 (much to my wife's annoyance!).
