The two 16:9 crops are foreground removal only, so you're looking at the top part of the full frame width.

Bokeh is a bit busy in the second image. I think it was taken @f/2.8 but can't be sure.

I like these! Thanks for sharing

based on the images i've seen in this thread, i quite like the lens stopped down (let's say, past f/4.5 or 5.6). the bokeh is just too nervous for me any wider.

2 images from Shuzenji, Japan with the Voigtlander Ultron 35mm F2. Shot on a Leica M10 at F5.6.

Really impressed with what Cosina has produced with this lens!

Nice tab there PCR!

Here's a few tourist snaps from Nagano Prefecture, the home of Cosina. The spectacular Matsumoto Castle is one of just 12 original castles remaining in Japan. Most castles are just concrete replicas, but not this one.

Lynn, just to "complete" your process, how do you go about digitizing your files? However you do it, I like it.

BTW, far as I'm concerned all subject matter is fair game, LOL. Like that first image.

Hi Greg, I scan with an Epson V700 @4800dpi using EpsonScan software then adjust tones in Lightroom 6, then export to CS6 for touchup and resizing.

Cheers,
Lynn

when you scan color with epson-do you use his auto color correction? and do you adjust curves at all? you can maybe send me screenshot of settings in pm-my results are not nearly as good on my v330...

It's been a while since I've scanned colour! Most recent scans were Ektachrome 100 and Ektar 100. From memory I adjust the histogram in EpsonScan for black and white points and set the middle value at 100, though sometimes I adjust that if the preview looks unrealistic. I leave any colour adjustments for LR6. The desired scan look is somewhat flat looking, to allow maximum room for tonal and colour adjustments in LR6. I think you'd call my technique unsophisticated but it works well enough for me, mainly because I'm very familiar with tonal and colour adjustments in LR and CS6. What also helps is having a good monitor - I use an NEC Multisync PA272W. Hope this helps.

Does the bokeh seem to have that swirly characteristic or does this photo just lend itself to that look?

Just a disclaimer none of these are works of art, I've been using medium format for more serious work lately. Also these are in varying stages of soberness, hah, so if there's something out of focus it's probably just me.

I figured i'd actually share a couple images with this lens since I've been shooting it for a while. These are Provia (faithful color/exposure to the slide), Portra 160 and Tri-X @ 1600.

I don't suppose anyone has been using the new 35mm Ultron alongside the VM 28mm Ultron and can comment on differences/similarities?

I love the 28mm, but I've been thinking about getting something that actually fits the framelines on my M2
