Leica IIIb is my fav Barnack. As mentioned by Waus, the standard base has been swapped out for a flash version—a pretty crude version without flash sync from the shutter. The wartime official version from Leitz NY (code SELIS) generates sync from the shutter, and you relay the signal via a cable with "household" connector to the flash bulb assembly. This base will merely serve as ballast.

Finally bought my first M this month: a 1988 Solms M6, along with a v.1 Elmarit 90 and a Canon ltm 50 /1.4

Thrilled to start burning rough film.

Nooky close-up attachment for Elmar lens to LTM Leica body. How close you can get rather exaggerated here for pictorial effect. Also I have ordered a Nooky-HESUM which I hope I can use with a Serenar lens on for close-up work.

SL, just purchased from Leica Soho in NYC.
Was listed as 'in stock" on their website, but they sheepishly said that they'd have to get one from the warehouse as they'd sold THREE of them within a matter of hours on Saturday!
Seems as if they're going like hot dogs at the baseball park. Leica must be very happy.

Found this Haka-Autoknips Mod. II self-timer at a thrift shop last week.
It's in great condition and it works.

Just bought this very nice T2 for a very reasonable price.
Can't wait to put a full roll through it, but so far it's a very nice camera.

Leica M 240

Bought my first Leica (d-lux 5 five years ago) and loved it. Now I've sold all my Nikon D3 gear and bought my first rangefinder, M 240 (but I kept my EOS-1D). And new to the forum!

(the handstrap I bought from Etsy from JeffersonSupply)

About to buy my 4th binder in two years and some more sleeves. Gonna grab some smaller beakers for smaller batches of film so I don't have to guess anymore.

a 50-90 zoom for the Pen FT. But it's going back right away because the "Fully functional" lens has no aperture, and fungus on the front element.

Crown Graphic Special. Been wanting one ever since I had to sell the first one, and finally came across one that wasn't astronomically priced. Came within $0.37 of losing the auction!

Nikon F4. Bought for $40, because it has light corrosion in the battery chamber. I will see how bad it is, I might have to pay a little more than that for a replacement battery grip, if vinegar and Q-tips fail.

Walked into my local camera store to drop off a few rolls of film last week. In their used case were three Pentax K1000 bodies. All were turned in by the same person. This was my first camera 36 years ago! I had to take a look at them. All three were mint. Each had a Pentax 50. Two of them were 1.4’s. I was surprised at how heavy and well-built these bodies felt. The viewfinder brightness also was a pleasant surprise. They were asking $69 for the body with a lens.

When I came back a few days later to pick up my film they were still in case. I cherry picked the best body and the best 50/1.4. How could you not for $69! My first roll of film is still in the camera.

About a month ago I found myself cruising Ebay look at Nikon F2 bodies with the non-metering heads. I think this K1000 may have saved me several hundred dollars

I bought and just received in the mail a complete set of black P6 extension tubes to complete my P6 and Exakta 66 gear (wanted to shoot something really, really small recently with the 150/4 Tele-Xenar and simply ran out of extension tubes - let's see how that works out now).

I am still searching for one of those rare Schneider 2x TCs and a 250mm Schneider lens, then I am good ;-)

Happy Friday! My Thumbs Up for the M9 just arrived along with a lens cap for my Zeiss 35 Biogon. Now I can keep the hood on the lens in the shoulder bag and have a cap that fits with the hood attached.

Just arrived! Maki Bellows Attachment for Makiflex. Turns Makiflex into Pecoflex. Shown here with 300mm Schneider Componon, camera focused at about 3-4 meters. Lovely on the groundglass and an extremely tight closeup with the 300mm. Useful to have front swings, tilt, and lateral displacement. I would say as precise to use as my Sinar Normas. Love it!

Kodak EK8, which is an instant folding camera with coupled rangefinder and combined RF/VF, from the 1970s. Found at a charity shop (yes, I've been poppin' tags) and going for sale when I've checked it out.

Picked up a refurb Nikon 24-120 VR f4 lens from Adorama. Not sure if I like it, after the initial 'wow' my camera (F6) has now become this huge thing. Yeah it was big before, but ok with prime lenses and really pleasant with the Nikkor 50 1.8G or CV 40 f2. Now it is like any other massive DSLR.
I'll shoot a test roll or two this weekend and make a judgement based on the results and my enjoyment of using it.

Not sure if this will work out:
I going to try a complimentary pairing of : a film M for traditional photography with B&W prints and a Panasonic m43 GX85 for 4k video ( with standard 50/25 primes only ).

Just picked up a Canon T80 with the AC 35-70 at a thrift shop for a few bucks, works nice!

I think I like the feel of this one! Now to find the matching 50/1.8 and another body!

I have a Retina IIa on the way to me but happened to be in an antique store and found this little guy. (Retina 118?)

It is obviously a well used, but not damaged, camera. Shutter words (and sounds about right), aperture is fine, glass looks clean, focus works well and the film advance seems to be OK. It came with a rolled of Plus-X in it. I'm finishing the roll and then will develop it.

Nikkormat FT2. Came with 50 2.0, HS-2 hood, uv filter, soft release and eyecup. Plus there was a polarizing filter included. Hundred bucks U.S. including shipping. All it needed was a strap and a battery!

Very nice! Though I would say the big gotcha with Retinas is the bellows. My first Retina had horrible light leaks.
