I was in a terrorist bomb attack and many people died that were standing very close to me, somehow (luckily), shrapnel from the bomb missed me......instead of running away, I decided to shoot photos.....but to be honest, I wish I would of been a doctor at that point, but I am not....

[/url]

It was illegal for me to have taken this photo, after many times visiting this part of Myanmar and
asking to be allowed to board a local fisherman's boat, I was constantly denied every time I asked, because only people with tourist cards are allowed to take tourists out on Inle Lake.....but after some questioning and some "luck" I was able to find a local guy who allowed me to go his boat for about 30 minutes......

This one was during a flood in Calcutta and it was super disgusting to wade through the flooded streets, there were cases of people falling through manholes and dying and I was warned not to go out during this time because people had removed manholes and some people would be walking down the flooded street and then just fall into a manhole and die.....I took baby steps that whole day.....and I was also worried about falling over and having all my camera gear get flooded.....

This one was taken up in the hill tribe region in Myanmar, the Pa'O people do not like to be photographed and it took some time and a couple of days hanging out with these people before I was able (allowed) to take his photo........interesting, a Pa'O girl now works at my favorite restaurant on my street here in Bangkok and I showed her some photos of the Pa'O and she was really excited because it reminded her of her homeland....now she is a good friend of mine......

Wow, Michael, fantastic photos! ^^^ And thanks, Huub, I really like the photo of the dog on the pier.

There are two more b&w landscapes that I'm particularly proud of, mainly b/c I got the tonal range I was after. Interestingly, both were taken on TMax 100 using a 1947 coated Elmar 50/3.5; I guess that should tell me something...

This one. Shot with a Leica M2 and a DR Summicron. Available light. Developed the negs myself. Printed it myself in the wet darkroom. It came out totally as I imagined it. I cannot do better than this.

This one is at the Alligator Farm in St. Augustine, Florida. These birds are wild, not captive. Interestingly they choose to build their nest over the large Alligator pond because of the safety it provides from predators (snakes, raccoon, etc,). There is the inevitable lose of chicks from them falling into the pond but zero lose due to snake and/or raccoon.

And don't worry about the W/NW bit. That simply means Words/No Words, meaning you can add words about the photo, or not, as you choose. I think the practice was picked up from the old Leica forum on photo.net, years ago, but it may have been used elsewhere too.
Thanks for that, and clearing up the W/NW.

A lot has chagned in 32 years! Well, my earliest memories of that area probably start in 1989, until recently I made a trip back each year, now they seem to be every second year with work getting in the way. Thankfully, most of the natural beauty hasn't changed.

1/2 second hand held, and the metering was tricky too. So I'm pretty proud of this:
