just got xpan - test roll
Good stuff going on here. I'm really getting into the pano mode. First the Widelux and now the Xpan, not easy on the wallet, unfortunately. So here's an image from the first test roll of the Xpan w/45 lens. (Tri-X, f/4 hand held at ±1/8sec.) Any advice, helpful hints, tricks or suggestions always appreciated.
cheers!

Hi David,
Nice B&W tones!
Soft contrast was well expanded...
Cheers,
Juan

How did you manage to et rid of the vignetting - there is nearly none left in the image (which is really good)

Some really nice work here (I have just discovered the thread)
- View from the top of Jura (France). Geneva is hiding down in the haze:
- Minolta 7D (about 10 vertical exposures stitched)
- Swiss alps (Col de Balme). Rolleiflex T with Velvia 100. Crop from an even longer panoramic image:
(large version on Flickr)
- Paris, Louvre. 2 shots from R3A + Jupiter 3 on Kodak 400VC.

Thanks! These were taken at around f8.0 to f11, aperture ranges which reduce vignetting on the XA.

And secondly, if you have enough overlap, the vignetting can be cropped out before stitching. But I agree, my meager efforts at stitching have often been ruined by vignetting.

Looks great Matus....what exactly did you do on the Rolle image with the DOF scale. On my monitor in large size it looks great!

I like the panning camera a bit more than the x pan, just a fun look.
Besides ... Jagger said it best,"If you can't be with the one you love hiney, Love the one you're with"
