Kristina, at Freestyle, confirmed they are taking pre-orders for Ektachrome within the hour today!
They expect to have the film in stock 10-16-2018 a little more than 3 weeks from now.
Got my order ready to submit!!!

We will need to start something like a "Post your New Ektachrome Photos" thread soon after it starts showing up in people's hands and gets loaded into their cameras.

B&H web site does not show it yet.
I'm hoping to pick up a few rolls when I'm in the city next month.

They are offering it at Glazer's Camera in Seattle for 11.95 a roll:
http://www.glazerscamera.com/new-rel...0-135-36-slide
(You need to call them and give your name and phone number. They will call back when they receive the product.)

out of curiosity but what is so special about this?
i recall shooting some in the past E100 and E200 before they discontinued.
didnt mind it but roll of E6 is expensive and no local labs where i live that process them now
might pre-order some to check it out though

So how are we getting these processed? There must be only a handful of labs doing E6

Use one of the labs or do it yourself? Is this a trick question?

I'm trying to decide what camera and lens I will shoot the first roll with - I'm torn. I have a lot of favourite cameras and lenses!
So far I think it will be my Summicron R 50/2 Type II...

Greetings, stompyg,
There are many labs that can do E-6 processing, I can provide links if need be. Numerous labs in North America and in Europe and especially in Germany.
Cheers,
Robert

Funny you are talking about what camera/lens you are going to use and not what type of images you are going to make.

I think that's what one does, when one owns a Leica.

Ha ha! Well, the image making process is not always just about the picture - why not enjoy holding the camera in the process.
The new ektachrome is going to take pictures of the beach in South Australia, most probably. The sky, sand and the ocean. Beautiful.

I've been using Agx imaging in Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan. Google will find them.

In Vancouver, BC:
You can deal directly with The Lab if you are close by.
http://www.thelabvancouver.com
Otherwise, Vancouver area Kerrisdale Cameras and London Drugs branches accept drop off for 35mm C41 and process themselves. 120, B&W and E6 are sent to The Lab at no extra cost.

Vanbar in Melbourne, Australia develops E6, and I believe Michaels in Melbourne develops E6 as well.
I just found a few slides taken of my grandmother back in the '60s and '70s, Ektachrome and Kodachrome. Its remarkable how well they have survived. On the other side, I wonder where the heck the rest of the slides went!
