Heh. I just got my Kiev 4A fixed, so I've got the CZJ 50/2.8 Tessar mounted & a roll of BW400CN loaded and needing finishing. If I have some spare time I'll dunk a couple more of the pile of rolls of 120 that has built up...

Raid, we've got to stop meeting like this...

I just got back from Galapagos (a happening art/performance space in DUMBO) as the semi-official photographer for St. Ann's Graduation Bash. Loud, crowded and animated, my working style (with my Hexar kit and Contax Tvs) could have been choreographed by Quentin Tarantino, minus most of the bloodshed ("Oh, that...? Just a bit of spilled wine on my lens hood...no, I think it's the Shiraz..."). Hoising the cameras over, around, and (respectfully) under the crowds. Shot only four rolls, but somehow it felt like seven or eight...and, no, I didn't forget to reload at any point. Select images forthcoming.

Tomorrow is chock-full o' tech jobs I need to start–or finish–for an assortment of clients, so no snaps that day, salthough I'll drop off tonight's shoot for developing in the morning, then pick up later in the day. Might not get to scanning till early Sunday.

I am still unsure what my weekend program will be like.
In about 3 hours from now, there will be someone installing a cable TV line in Dana's room. Then we will get back the main TV during Mickey Mouse Club House shows!

As for photography, I will relax and enjoy what comes along.

I've already started to straighten out my darkroom, clean up the place. Next is my desk and computer desk. I keep finding prints I don't remember making, mostly work prints on 5x7 RC paper. I found a picture of my son Jonathan. We're sitting in a restaurant that has ashtrays on the table! It looks like a 15mm shot so it can't be all that old. The washing machine is in the darkroom so I'm doing laundry at the same time. I'm going to scan the photo and stick it on my blog later today.

http://thepriceofsilver.blogspot.com

Next on the schedule is to slap my hand if I try reaching for that seductive Bessa L with the 15mm Heliar. I can see her smiling at me from the clutter on the dining room table right now, but I have a hot date with that cute little Leica CL and its 40mm Summicron, which is loaded with Double-X Negative 5222. We're going out into the scattered drizzle and see what looks interesting. For tomorrow? Who knows...I try not to take the M bodies out in the rain.

It is very addictive to use an extreme wide angle lens, and I feel that it will make images look very similar. The 40mm-50mm perspective requires more thought. This is how I feel about it, but I know that others will feel otherwise.

Raid, my problem is that I "see wide". When I first got that 19mm Canon back in '67 I knew that I'd found my future. I've also owned a 20mm Vivitar and a 20mm Zeiss Jena Flektagon. Since I got the 15mm Heliar I've been one happy dude! The 21 Super Angulon sits there unused.

I'm getting my M2 ready for a trek along the North Downs Way from Farnham, Surrey to Dover, Kent (England) -- so technically that's longer than this weekend, but rather 2 weeks on foot...

I'll look around at a local street festival tomorrow. Maybe this will be interesting as there are also some artists running around on stilts.

Al,

I now try not to overuse the Canon 19mm lens. I will have with me a 5cm lens to balance between the lenses.

What are your plans?

It is weekend again. I am always happy when a weekend starts.

This morning, and while at Starbucks and for lunch at Whataburger with my kids, I used a Canon P with Canon 19mm FL plus a Summicron 50/2 with the M6.

What are your plans for this weekend? Is photography one of the activities planned?

Taking (mostly digital for quick posting) pictures of my week-old daughter. Though I'll get in at least a little walk with the FED-2 early tomorrow morning before the thermometer hits 90.

Another week has gone by,and we are approaching another glorious weekend.

I will try to use FSU lenses such as the J-3 and the J-8 this weekend. It is a FSU weekend for me.

What will you be up to?

This weekend I'll scan some shots from my Horizon 202 that are back from the lab and put another film through the new (to me) Zeiss folder and see if I can get something in focus.

I started out this afternoon with a couple of rolls of Reala through my new to me Bessa I. It's "only" got the Vaskar 105/4.5 Triplet but I have high hopes for this folder. I hope to get out & finish the roll of Tmax 100 in it right now.

This is an active weekend, as seen above from your postings.

I am waiting for 3 more 50mm lenses to arrive as loaners before I will get busy weekend after weekend on lens comparisons.

It is weekend again, and maybe you have some time to take photos.

I took today three rolls of film as part of the 50mm lens comparisons. It was very hot and humid, and the sweat was uncomfortable.

What will you be up to?

I'm supposed to be going to a birthday party tomorrow night that's being held at a local coffee house. The birthday "girl" is also one of their regular folk singer/guitarists. I'm toying with the idea of mounting a flash on an old Graflex side bracket and shooting a roll or two with the circa 1959 Minolta Autocord that I just got working again. TLR, B&W film, direct flash on camera, side shadow and all, a straight out of 1959 look to the photos.

Went hiking with my 3 kids today and shot a roll of Ektar with the Nokton 1.1 on a Bessa R2. The waterfalls were flowing and beautiful, but the mosquitoes were rather vicious. Shooting an engagement session tomorrow, which will be a first for me.

There's some carnival rides in town, shot and developed a roll of Ektar 100 taking my daughter out for some rides. It's here all weekend so I may be going back if the rain stays away (we missed a few rides).

Falling farther and farther behind with my 1-2-3 Project. It's too hot to be outdoors with a camera.

That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

Today I'm gonna photograph Mother Mallard's Portable Masterpiece Company at the Johnson Museum of art at Cornell. These guys are pioneers of synthesized ensemble music and are really good. I'll probably use a DSLR...

Well so far last night I chased the sunset getting to Hope Gap near the Seven Sisters pretty much bang on time to get the sun coming down. (Do a Flickr search, you'll find something there) I was shooting FP4+ (needed a coastal scene of the South Downs for B&W Mag's B&W Photog' of the Year compo) --- it was bloody gorgeous up there, warm too, watching the waves lap in, the sun slip down below the horizon, the chalk cliffs gleaming with golden orange (yes, I was shooting B&W!) and then the sky turning pink with the clouds ignited in a plume of sunset red. Gorgeous.

Then I went for a bit of a drive (more of a reccy) to scout out my 4th and final shot which I had a hunch I would find on the South Downs Way's Bridlepath route which I have only walked bits of (whereas I have walked the whole 100miles of the South Downs Way last year, this very week actually but it divides with the last ~12 miles splitting, brideway is inland and the the main footpath dives off down to the coast and the rolling cliff-face walk where the South Downs career into the sea.)

Found just what I was looking for so I shall return next weekend weather permitting at dawn. (An early 4am start)

Then I got back, and set up the bathroom to do some printing, packed up by 1am and today I'm off down to the seafront in Worthing to photograph some of the festival that is on this week and the American Custom Car show is on down in Steyne Gardens so I shall crack open some chrome (Elite Chrome probably) and take some shots of the cars and so forth.

All in all, a photographically rich weekend (I do try to do as much as I can)

Vicky
(All with my M2 + Serenar 50mm of course)
