It can Doug, what little testing I did with the first roll I put through mine.
I shot panorama until the frame counter said 5 or 6 shots remained and I then switched from panorama mode to 24x36 and shot the remaining frames "normally".

Also worth noting it's quite easy to tell what mode you're in as the frame lines change. ISO setting? Easy to inadvertently change and not know until it's too late.

Yeah, the Xpan adjusts mid-roll to show proper remaining frames (counts down) depending on panoramic or traditional 35mm aspects. It's a really nice feature and well-designed...

Pretty nifty... Thanks to you and others for this confirmation. Then one is easily able to switch formats at will depending on how one wishes to frame the composition; i.e. not "stuck" making panos of non-pano scenes.
