If this thread is limited only to 35mm rangefinders, then my vote is for the Canon.

Canon Canonet QL17 G-III with 40mm f/1.7 fixed lens (see rangefinder on right)
(also known as the poor man's Leica)
1) Fast high quality lens
2) Dependable battery-independent manual/mechanical operations (batteries needed only for light meter)
3) Reasonable price
