according to their websites the new 100s might be here (locally) tomorrow...

got me wondering who might be getting one when they arrive at a shop near you?

If the new manual focus implementation is good, I will consider it.

Tempted to get one. I bought the original one and paid full whack and not sure I want to do that again. Not even sure what I'd get for mine.

Like Frank, I would be willing to take a used X100 (non-S) off someone (for the right price) when they buy the new one.

But no, I have no plans to buy the X100S.

Nope. X100 is the only camera I've ever paid full price (local shop). Not planning on doing that again! Besides, it still works.

Yeah, I've pre-ordered. It's my most used camera and all of the improvements are things that have bothered me about the current version. Faster AF especially since I still miss on the streets (I prefer exact focus to zone focus these days).

Actually.. Given that I am pretty happy w/ the set of cameras I am currently using.. I am pretty GAS free at the moment. in terms on any new camera bodies. I will eventually get the 14 and 27 for the Fuji and c what happens on the next gen front... Maybe sometime next year.. But I don't plan on buying any more lenses until I get a second body.

If I did not already have the x100, I would get the new version, but given how big I print and how I use it, I have no problem staying w/ it until a it dies.

Wish they would bring out additional versions of the X100 with a super wide (21mm isn) and a short tele lens (75mm isn). As ridiculous as it might sound but I would not mind owning two X100(s) with different lenses. Rather than one body with different lenses. The price of the camera and size would make this a feasible solution for me.

Tempted to get one, but will wait until Aperture supports the RAW format, sort of like I did with the X100.

I had my X-Pro stolen, and I'm considering replacing it with the X100s. I never took the 50mm off the X-Pro, and I like 35mm better than 50mm.... The fact that the X100s is $700 cheaper than the X-Pro + lens doesn't hurt either.

A 21 equiv would be the only one that could give me gas..

X100s is on my plan for late 2013, if the reviews of the split prism focusing are wonderful. If not, I'll hang onto the X100.

My alternative plan is to replace my Nikon stuff with the XE1 and some lenses, but that's still in the pondering phase.

No for me. not until my current x100 is dead. By then the 3rd or 4th Gen of the x100 will likely be out.
The current model is perfect for my use. Smallish files with high image quality.
Caveat being, I also own an xpro1 and 5Dii for higher res and print/file size.

Like Rogier, I would also go for a series of fixed lens cameras over interchangable lenses.
If for some nutbag reason Fuji ever offered the x100 in 14,23, 35, 60 I would buy all 4, sell my xpro1, and, be done with it for small digital cameras. I doubt they will ever do such.

Lol.. Pretty much my feeling as well.. But for me it would just take 14 f2.8 and 27f2 on a x100s type body . The high iso range is already good enough for me even on the original x100. As I said before, I used to use two bodies when I was shooting w/ CL. One w/ 40 and other w/ 21. I would have to really think seriously about keeping my xp1 setup. The leaf shutter is soooo quiet on the x100 series when u add the other factors in, man I would definitely have GAS

Might.

If it's as operationally fast as touted... then yes.
