Are you using an in-camera meter? The heavily recessed rear element blocks the metering on many cameras, I always sunny 16 or handheld meter, it's not a good lens to use in-camera metering.

I love the tones this lens can bring, along with its lack of distortion.

yes, with the original hood on.
no, i use an iphone app (light meter). I guess it is the haze. I have never had blown highlight before with other lenses.

thank you for your comment. i like its tones too.

The remaining 10% is mostly either a rigid Summicron or a Dual Range Summicron depending on how close I am (I so wish you could just use the DR throughout its range on a digital M -- if they ever introduce one where that problem is fixed I will start selling spare gear, blood, kidneys, whatever it takes to buy one). The other lenses mostly sit idle. The Super Angulon from yesteday:

In Juneau there is a Super Angulon in hands who know how to do it best.
Well done.

Thanks! I use a Nikon Coolscan 5000ED for 35mm negatives. I also have an Epson V700 that I use occasionally for both 35mm and 120 negatives and prints.

This portrait is from my first roll using the SA 21mm, at about 0.7m, the closest distance I could focus using the rangefinder.
