W/NW - Musicians
I looked through and I didn't find a thread dedicated to them, but I know they are a popular subject. So here it goes.
A German band at a restaurant in Hong Kong.

I enjoy shooting musicians and shows, and love live music.
@PeterM - intrigued with the processing you've used.
Some rangefinder shots..
Street Musician; Budapest, Hungary
Samba Lola (M4, Neopan 1600)
Jim playing last Mercy James Gang show a couple months back
Never can get enough of Jim Fitting on the harmonica. Put a Session Americana show on your list!

Dinty Child also plays with Session Americana, and uses about every instrument on the stage, be it a guitar, banjo, the keys or squeeze box
Jim also plays with David Champagne in the Treat Her Right band.
Jim and David have some Morphine roots, and Monique's 2-string bass goes back to them as well. She recently moved to Austin, TX, working with a new band.
Larry Scudder is a talented Violist, sitting in with Session Americana when he's not out touring with the Ryan Montbleau Band, or jamming with the locals
(hopefully I didn't include too many words w/ the images).

@simon - nice lighting. That long exposure with the crowd surfing in the last shot really works.
Reminded me of Figli Di Madre Ignota, an energetic Baltic band I happened to run into one evening in Budapest.
There's a gallery for that show -> HERE

David Murray on three nights with different bands 24 years apart...
1985; scanned from a print and heavily cropped. at Sweet Basil in NYC
same night in 1985... the David Murray Octet with musical director Butch Morris
last year at Jazz Standard as a guest of his mentor, trumpeter Bob Bradford
a few weeks later with the World Saxophone Quartet and M'Boom at Birdland...

This is a photograph of a quick color sketch in ink that I made of my crazy but talented old girlfriend Eileen back in 1985. Drawn at the San Francisco Broadmoor Hotel on Sutter St.

QUOTE:
" PeterM - intrigued with the processing you've used."
Thanks for this....unlike many photographers I actually enjoy post processing and think it to be perfectly legitimate (some do not seem to accept post processing even though in an analogue world its perfectly OK.)
In any event I put a bit of effort into post processing as so far as I am concerned all that matters is the final result - not how you got it.
Many of my photos are processed to have quite low saturation and high contrast (I like the look and its become a bit of a trademark of mine I suppose.) Often I will also selectively process - e.g. dodge and burn. Something that seems to be a forgotten art in this digital age. Although I do it digitally of course. You will notice that I also often shoot wide open to minimize depth of field too and this gives a characteristic soft effect to the background.
You will most likely find more here is you like the results.
