Awesome work on both the lens hood and the focusing tab! I used the Heavystar tab on my v4 50mm cron for years and it held up well with heavy duty double sided tape. I was one of the beta testers of Lens Taab and have been using it ever since. Just realized I don't have any photos of the final version of the product which is much thinner and streamlined, but this should give you an idea of how the two compare.

Lens Taab

The fact I don't have a picture of the final product is irking me so I'll have to take a photo of it soon

Poor-man's GR1. OK not quite cheap, but M4-P can be repaired and outlive me.

Testing a new cheapy shade for my 21 SA. Not sure how effective it will be as a hood, but it'll definitely keep my fingers out of the frame.

I have one, too, and I find it very good, optically and mechanically. And it's small and light and looks good.

Got my new straps in from Justin (Tap & Dye) AND I got my SA21 in the mail from Michaelwj! Super excited to finally get to try one of these out.

Thanks Dirk! I really love using them both and I'm looking forward to getting to know the characteristics of the SA21 over time. It'll most likely stay on the M-A permanently.

After many years I finally have an M again. Yesterday my new M4-2 arrived and I'm in love again. I was worried about scratching my glasses and have been looking for a rubberised eye piece without much luck beyond magnifiers or DIY options, so I was pleasantly surprised when the M4-2 arrived with a rubberised viewfinder. I haven't seen the results from my first film yet but in operation it has felt solid. Currently fitted with a jupiter8 50mm f2 on a M to L39 adaptor (is there any way to make the adaptor set the correct bright frame?) I am waiting on a new Voigtlander 35mm f2.5 Skopar which will be the lens that spends most of the time fitted.

I've used one and it looks like the Elmarit 28 ASPH with slightly less even field and pronounced vignetting. It renders details more delicately.

In fact even its diagram looks like the Elmarit (although it predates the later), with 7 elements in 4 groups - 2 aspherical surfaces. With such an advanced design and tonnes of dead GR1s around, it's too bad Mr. Miyazaki won't convert it since he can't put one into his ready made barrels...

That's a really good idea for the finger loop. I might have to get some of my leather working buddies to figure something out for me...

Thanks!
I just bought a leather wristband and a hole puncher, trimmed down to the length I prefer and punch couple holes. I like that I can adjust the length, sometime I might want to use 3 fingers rather than 2.

The good news is Gordy's said they've been working on a finger strap for a while, hopefully we will see one from them soon!

Ben, that's a great setup. I love project cameras!

Past few weeks, I've been carrying both or one of them daily. I am now partial to using Leicavit pretty much full-time.

When I'm out for a quick bite or I don't wanna carry anything but the true essentials, I'm using this little "man purse" I got in Japan about 20 years ago. I can comfortably carry M4 or M4-P with the 'Vit and small lens with ease in the front compartment, and leave some room for note, pen etc.

M4-P and Leicavit with Minitar-1 in there.

Same camera and watch as pictured above.
I've got quite a few nice watches, but the Speedmaster sees more action than the rest of them combined.

Nice paint BUT as has been mentioned before, the nickel may not have been fully removed so wont brass properly. Perhaps he does remove on request?

According to his website he strips everything down to brass before he paints the camera and parts. His prices are really reasonable too! I've always wanted a black M3 and know I'll never be able to afford a real one and Kanto's prices are crazy. Maybe I'll have to try and save up a bit and send mine across the pond.
