Voigtlqnder Perkeo 11 issue.

Well like the idiot I am, I went into the top of this camera to see why the number counter was starting to be sluggish. Did some cleaning, I did this a while back with no problems, but this time stupidly moved the film spool on the left side of the camera. This has caused it to be out of alignment and I can not see how to get it back correctly. When the winding knob is turned, the film spool does not turn with it now and the knob is not seating correctly.
So unless some helpful chap is out there.......who does service work on these cameras, anyone know a reliable bloke ?????

Fred overhauled my Perkeo II a few years back and did a great job of it. Works to perfection since and still.

Well sadly Fred Mueller has retired. Anyone else got any suggestions for someone in the United States.

Problem solved. I sat and imagined how the mechanism worked, step by step. Went at it again and got everything in line and it popped right back in. The Germans certainly are clever little devils in how they designed their stuff back then.
So sorry for bothering you. I would still like to find someone who could service the lens though, it must have pockets of dried up grease as it is not smooth throughout the range.

I thought that might be true. I last spoke with him about a year or so ago: He's in his 80s and was saying that the time was almost up. A good guy, he did a lot of good work for me over the course of the 15-20 years I knew him. I hope he's well and enjoying his retirement!

And good to hear you've figured it out and gotten it back in order. Regards getting the lens serviced, hmm ... You might try talking with Steve Gandy (the owner of this RFF forum). I seem to recall he has some service folks he can recommend.

I had the shutter and lens on my Perkeo II serviced by Zack’s Camera Repair in Providence, RI. I was very satisfied with the service. I do not know if Zack has experience with the film advance / counter mechanism.

Chris Sherlock has CLA'd a couple of Perkeo's for me: shutter, focus, etc and at a very reasonable price with rapid turnaround. https://retinarescue.com/
