Best 3rd party lens hood for M-Rokkor 40mm

I just a got one of these butter smooth M-Rokkor for my "M", and I am looking for a rigid lens hood, and a front cap...
Found these 2 options on the Bay: 200299114795 and 200317820963.
Any users' feed back or advices on these or any other option?
Cheers

I have bought this one: 200317820963 (same hood, same seller) and couldn't be happier. Works perfect (also with filter !).

Many thanks, I like its shape too, if it does the job just fine, then it is perfect as the other option is really bigger...

I have the CL version of the M-Rokkor 40mm. It's a darn nice lens. This post motivated me to finally file the lug to bring up the 35mm frameline in the M5 and Hexar RF.

Hope to make more images with thie lens, soon.

Thank you, OP - for the motivation!!

I love my 40/2 M-Rokkor (CLE version). It's small, fast, sharp, relatively inexpensive and it fits the 35mm frame lines on my R-D1 perfectly.

Great shots. I love 40mm. My VC nokton f/1.4 is an excellent lens indeed, but your Rokkor looks even better...

Gabor - I'm curious about your "snapshot" settings. When you preset your exposure for night shots, what values are you setting? And are you using hyperfocal distance for focus?

Thanks,
C

It depends on the film (and location !) In Sapporo, a big and at night well illuminated city, 400ISO were good for f/1.0 and 1/60s or f/1.4 and 1/30s and 1600ISO for f/4.0 and 1/15s. With focus set to 3m (for me ideal when using 50mm or 40mm lenses), I was ready to go.

maddoc, I think I like your photo. It seems incredibly full of details and has a perfect BW rendition and contrast, in my opinion.

+1 as well. I was thinking it impressive that you must have stopped down a fair bit to get that much depth of field, which must have implied a pretty long exposure at night, yet you managed to hand-hold quite steadily. Nice picture!

Currently, I'm using my CLE/40mm mostly for slide film. These are all shot on Velvia 50 and are from a recent trip to San Francisco.
