Roger Hicks -- Author of The Rangefinder Book

Roger Hicks is a well known photographic writer, author of The Rangefinder Book, over three dozen other photographic books, and a frequent contributor to Shutterbug and Amateur Photographer. Unusually in today's photographic world, most of his camera reviews are film cameras, especially rangefinders. Cheap Fizz and a Weird Meal

Outlet stores, a.k.a. Dented Can Stores, often produce unexpected bargains. How about a medal-winning Cava at 2.99 (2.50, $3.50) and a thoroughly improbable MRE (Meal, Ready to Eat -- well, apart from heating) for 90 euro-cents (75p, just over a dollar)?

The pictures are dull, it's true, but I always like to illustrate pieces like this. Who else uses dull pics to leaven text?

US Army MRE? Or a French one? I like'em both.
Dutch 24 hour rations are nice too.
They're never under 5 Euro a piece here though

Ah, I see. Microwave Nasi Chicken. Can't ruin that too badly

Not sure if is relevant but Lidl Prosecco is excellent, not sure where it comes from though.

I like a shop where the labels are in a language I can't identify.

Talking about dull pictures have you seen the German book of 365 pictures of urban car parks? One for every day of the year?

Excellent in its way and reminds me of my early years attempting processing when I couldn't achieve any contrast at all......
