A little twist from the other thread, "What 35mm film body have you....

What cameras in your collection have you not used often, but refuse to part with?

Mine would be my R-D1s. I love this thing but seldom use it.

I have a couple and for me it comes down to ergonomics including the finder experience. Given an 'equiv. lens' what else is there to recommend one body over another when thinking about end results. I can get good results (for example) out of a Pentax SPF and a Nikon F3. I wouldn't think of getting rid of the SPF although the F3 is used much more often... likewise the IIIf vs. MP...

A lot! But not parting with them? That's down to two main reasons, not sentimentality.
1. I'm just too lazy to sell items, sounds like too much work.

And, even more so,
2. Most of my excess cameras are nickel and dime stuff that just ain't worth much.

Fujifilm 645Zi, Nikon FTN, Nikon F2, Kiev 35m, Leica R8 - to name a few.

Now that I recently sold my pair of Mamiya 6 bodies and all the associated lenses and accessories, the rest of my photo gear isn't worth selling or getting rid of by other means. I have the gear I like and I use it, so that's that. Maybe my least used camera is my Nagaoka 4x5 but I would absolutely not part with that one. It's just too damned good.

After reading all the praise for the M5 I bought one from KEH. After the first roll I found it awkward especially the longer shutter travel so the meter arm can move out of the way I assume. I then went back to the M7 because I have been using it for 10 years and I "know it".

My first Yashica Electro 35 GTN. It's one of three cameras I kept when I sold off my previous collection. When the current collection goes, it will likely stay again.

I have a pin hole camera that I need to spend some time getting to know how to use it. It uses 120 film and I did make a few notes from the couple of black and hite films I used.

This is the camera and I bought it a few years ago when it was less money.

I have a few cameras that I keep because they're rare, like the Cee-Ay 35, and a few cameras I keep because it's not worth my time to sell them (like a half dozen old box cameras). Otherwise everything does get used now and again.

rcubed:what is that lens/shade on the camera?

Three for me:
Nikkormat FTn, my first real camera, was my father's and I can't bring myself to part with it.
Nikon D1x, my first digital, and I keep telling myself I'll get around to converting it to IR. In both cases, I don't have much in the way of F-mount lenses anymore.

On video side, a Canon XLH1 I got at surplus, partly for the novelty of shooting tape, but that novelty's long worn off.

Its a Canon 50mm 1.4 LTM with a 3d printed hood. Works perfectly for the crop sensor

I've got a bunch that seldom get used that I just haven't got around to selling yet, but there's only a few that I won't part with...

Spotmatic SP - purchased new by my Mum
Nikonos III - purchased new by my Dad (professional diver for about 40 years...)
SRT101b - purchased new by my Grandpa

Nikon F or Mamiya 645 just because I have been using rangefinders as my main camera for twenty plus years.

Although I mostly photograph digitally with my M262 these days, I'm going to discount the retention of an M6 35mm body as relevant.

Generally I part company with any kit that I'm not using, or that I'm not likely to use, so I'm not really a collector as such. The only real exception to this is that I don't seem able to get rid of my Nikonos III. I have hardly used it since I bought it, but it's got such a nice clunky chunky quality to it that I somehow still have it. It's nice to see I'm not the only one

The Rolleiflex 3.5f
When i need it, it is super, especially for family portraits.
However, my Leica M2 is in action more often

I keep all my cameras, with the exception of a few earlier digitals which I've given to close family.
What I don't use much:

Fuji X10
Canon S90
Fuji F30 (groundbreaking pocket cam!)
Casio Z750

I just don't use film much at all, but these are the ones I use the least:

Olympus Trip 35
Agfa Optima 1535 Sensor
Minolta SR-T 101
Pentax ME

Fujifilm X100F... I rarely use it because I don`t care for the 35mm lens FOV these days, but I like the camera.

I've had cameras come and go over the years, but my OM2n 50/1.4, 28/2.8, 100/2.8 has remained. It was used heavily at one time, but tapered off as I got into AF and then digital cameras.

Minolta XD11 and various Canon and Pentax SLRs. Great cameras but I use a RF for all my film photography.
