Is Krikor Maralian no longer working?

I know Krikor went independent more than a decade ago. Back in 2011 he completely overhauled my 3.5E Planar. It came back in three days like brand new. That camera got sold unfortunately, back in 2012 when I really needed the money.
Anyway, I just picked up a Rolleicord V from a fellow RFF'er, knowing that the shutter needs work. I just tried Krikor's number and got a message that the number is no longer in service.
So, is he no longer working on Rolleis at all?
Sorry if this has been covered here on the forum but I just did a search and couldn't find anything about his current working status. I'd prefer to send the camera to him as he's just up in north Jersey, really close to where I used to live and also only a day away in the post.

Thanks all,
Phil Forrest

One of the 2.8D's I had went through his shop before I bought it.
It was excellent!
Later tuned a 3.5 planar with the same result.
If he's retired it makes sense as he's "getting there"...Best Wishes to him!
One fewer Rolleiflex techs

I called him a couple of months ago. It has been hard to get through on his phone line. I told him that I wanted to send in a 2.8F for a CLA. He discouraged me from doing it. I got the impression that he was winding down, didn't want any new business.

Thanks. He may have finally retired.
Well, I wish there were someone closer to send my camera to but I guess I'm going to have to go on faith and good feedback then let the USPS have it to take it across the country somewhere.

I'me told Mr Oceanside does not touch Rolleicords anymore??
Try Mark Hansen. He gets good reviews.

He said pretty much the same thing when I sent him my Rolleiflex Automat three years ago, something like "This camera was made in 19xx. Are you sure that you want to spend this much money on it?" Also said pretty much the same thing when I sent him my Rolleicord nine or ten years ago.

In both cases he repaired the camera the day he received it and sent it back the next day. The cameras worked flawlessly when I got them back.

The Krimar website is down, too.

Harry Fleenor's website says he does Rolleicord IV and V/a/b.

I've decided to do the repair myself. I just can't bring myself to spend well over $100 or even $200 on a $45 camera. I've rebuilt a Leica M4 in the field with a pocketknife, channel locks and a set of jeweller's screwdrivers. I can do this.

Cool. The closest I got to that is changing the batteries on my Xpan w/ a credit card because I did not have a nickel on me to remove the cap.

I'm just too poor these days I think.
Off topic, I see you're in the "shadow of Pike's Peak."
Where? I used to live in Chipita Park, Green Mountain Falls and Cascade during the 80s. Went to Ute Pass Elementary and Manitou Middle School before my parents' work took up to the armpit of California (Fresno.) I still have friends and family near that area of Colorado and I really don't visit enough.

My wife and I bought a home near Old North End and have retired here. She was born in Denver and has family on the western slope. We are renovating the place now.

Krikor Maralian of Krimar Camera Shop, i am afraid to say is out of business.

Last year I mentioned a very unpleasant face-to-face interaction regarding my MINT Rolleiflex 3.5F Type 2 3.5 Planar TLR that he took in for repair and NEVER contacted me on. Apparently he sold it.

In our conversation, he came across as paranoia and incohesive as he reverted to yell, cream, and curse me. It would take me 2 trips and a threat to have him refund me the cost of the camera.

In those conversation, he mentioned that he as very sick and had many hospital appointments to make. I would normally drive up there to his shop, but having no further business with him, I choose NOT to refer him nor check up on him.

My business for all of my Rolleiflex goes to either Harry Fleenor, Paul Ebel, or Bill Moretz, which I hope to use in the future.
