Amal 626's, Norman Hyde TOGA Gold Star mufflers, John Tickle headlight ears, Bill Selby bacon cutters, pedestrian slicer and external fork springs from a Triumph, Norton upper shock knobs, NOVA 5-speed transmission, Stadium bar-end mirror, PJ Speedos handlebar-mount pocket watch holder, Halcyon tax disc holder, Hagon shocks. All UK made.

There is also an Italian horn and German brake/clutch levers, probably an American part or two. And plenty of Japanese parts of course

I never tire of looking at this bike. Great photographs. What is the location?

That shot of a New Hudson (I had never heard of it) is impressive. Probably from the thirties, I'd guess. Dayrell, do you know specifics about the bike, engine size, etc.?

That was taken yesterday on a quick 143-mile ride -- great weather, great roads, and of course great donuts.
Yeah, a few changes; I saw your list above.

I never saw many of these and can't swear I ever saw the downpipe version in the flesh (steel). I knew two of the scrambler version way back when.

I still think this was the peak of Honda (maybe all Japanese bike) style. I remember that even when I wanted a so called "350" that I thought the Super Hawk looked a lot nicer. There was a pretty 450 early on with a candy apple orangish red tank that looked nice. I think that might only have been the scrambler version, and maybe inspired by a similar color BSA 650 "scramber" I remember seeing once. I don't know the model.

I guess I had better hunt down some pictures to justify all the talk. I know I have a nice color print somewhere of my old Triumph Daytona and BSA 441. Maybe even a really old snap of my high school buddy's 300 Dream - those were some wild dream.

Memorial Day Ride by Vince.Lupo, on Flickr

Went on a nice 200 mile ride today with my friends Andrew (middle) and Lee (right). Hit some of the best roads in the western part of Maryland near the Civil War battlefields and beyond.

^ The definitive "Cafe Racer", I had a Domi 99 years ago, and couldn't care less whether it worked or not, it's sheer mechanicalness was enough to justify having it. Peter

This was a dream bike for many a Jr. High boy back in "64", myself included. A friend (Tony) owned one & I'd save up my lunch money for the week just to drive it home from school, with Tony securely on back of course. Thought I was on top of the world!

It was for me; it is hard to imagine now. I never got one, but did end up with an ill-fated Trail 90 that would never work reliably for some reason.

My neighbor talks about putting this one back on the road, but I've been hearing that off and on now for many years. I kind of like it where it is now. I've only seen it twice, but know it is there waiting for its time.
