What would you guys recommend for a good inexpensive medium format camera? Looking at trying some 120 for fun!

A wide field your are looking for! What means inexpensive? Searching for quality? A pinhole if looking for developing fun? A ranger finger might be some of the the fuji 645? 6x6 a hasselblad or rolleiflex sl 6x6. Sharp lenses hasselblad h? Weight might be a factor? A texas leica as a choice? Which metering system you are looking for? Mamiya 645 or rz rb?
It depends all on what you want to shoot and what you like to get?
So if you can answer the question for yourself you might get a step forward.
Best

What Sem said. TLRs are inexpensive and can give good results, but you either love or hate the laterally-reversed ground glass image. Any TLR that isn't made by Rollei is usually cheap: Minolta Autocords, Yashicas, Ricohs, Flexarets.. take your pick. Try to choose ones that take Rollei Bay I filters and hoods as Bay I accessories are cheaper. You can sometimes pick up a Rolleicord (rather than the Rolleiflex) at a reasonable price.

Folders are also cheap, but the condition is critical and you might have to buy several before you get one in good working condition. Moskva-5 (6x9 neg) might be worth a look, from a reputable seller like Oleg or Fedka.

What MF camera? That is a more difficult question than I am sure you thought it would be. There are RFs, SLRs, auto-exposure,interchangable lens varieties, TLRs, folders, and combinations of all before. There are 645, 6x6, 6x7, 6x9, dual formats, roll film and sheet film models. Some are pretty good. Some not so good. And that is my opinion. You and others may disagree with my opinions.

Personally, I like a Zeiss 6x9 with Novar lens, folder; compact light, and a good picture taker. A Mamiya Super Press 23 I have has 645, 6x7, 6x9 (and one model w/645), interchangeble backs (one a focusing screen for 6x9 sheet film), interchangeble lenses, bellows back, and weighs more that I want to carry now with my back problems. I never bonded with my Rolleiflex and its 6x6 format, so I gave it away to a relative who loves it and uses it. I like a 6x9 with metal case and folding bellows bed that uses 6x9 sheet film, or a roll film back of 129 roll film (Nope, haven't tried spooling that yet).

What would you want? I would suggest looking at what you think you would most like, and start your journey. Many of the older cameras still take surprisingly good photos and don't cost that much. It will be an interesting journey. Some will be great, some will need CLA, some won't really work. You just have to work your way through them. It can be a fun journey, or you may decide early on MF isn't really for you.

Good luck.
